Today we celebrate Consensus 30 Year Anniversary! What a fantastic milestone, so many dreams have come true along the way!
Consensus was, like many other big ideas and Companies, first drafted on a napkin.
Back-of-the-napkin business plans are not just a myth!. Paul Lauterbur claimed to have drafted his design for the MRI scanner on napkins at a Pittsburgh hamburger joint in 1971. Three decades later, his work won him a Nobel prize. Rolling King and Herb Kelleher started Southwest Airlines a year after King drew the prospective route between Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio on a napkin to pitch his idea to Kelleher. And those are only two examples. You can check many other napkins started stories here.
What we celebrate today is a great journey from a napkin draft in a Cafe in Bogota, Colombia to more than 900 successful implementations in the US and Latin America and more than 100 dedicated and passionate employees that continue to live the values that started it all 30 years ago. We are happy to celebrate Consensus 30 year Anniversary and look forward to many more!
